  i was readng the paper and i noticed they printed a story on the two couples that were killed in florida.

  they were from st louis.

  they were also jehovah's witnesses.

  Well they had the funeral here by our house at the assembly hall. It was on the news. Over 2,000 people attended the memorial. They were lined up around the block and up the street.

  Hubby just had to brag about how many showed up..He said they had a lot of "Friends". Funny...2000 people didn't show up at my JW Father in laws memorial?

  I guess it's all who you know.My deceased JW Father in law's wife was a JW for almost 50 years.You would think they had a lot of "Friends"...But I don't think more than 50 people attended his funeral..What made the others so special?

  I Need To Gain Weight??

  i am so bummed!

  i went to the doctor yesterday and he said that i was too thin and that i need to gain 5 or 10 pounds.

  i don't understand why.

  My hubby has cancer. He was losing weight so I read some of the literature in the oncologists office. They promoted a drink in a can called "Boost". They have one that has many vitamins and helps add weight. I think it is called "Boost plus". It comes in Chocolate or vanilla or strawberry. He likes the chocolate one and he fills a glass with vanilla Ice cream..not ice milk..and makes a shake out of it. He does this after each meal. 3 a day. He has stopped losing weight and that is pretty good for a cancer patient!. So you mght give that a try if you like chocolate milk and ice cream. He also drinks the vanilla one and puts chocolate ice cream in it!...

  We get it free..3 cases a month from an organizaton called Perigrine society..I believe it is a Cathoic organizaion!..Like a JW would do that!

  It is a supplement drink and it is usually about 5 or 6 dollars for 6 cans. I'm glad we get it free!

  My daughter is very thin also. But she always felt good.Now she has been sick and she lost 20 pounds. She has nothing to go on.She is about 5'6 and weighs 95 or 100 pounds! I think it is good to have just a little too much ..not a lot..at least something to fall back on..if you do get sick! Also..just because you feel good now..your organs could be suffering. You may not feel it until later! Light menstral periods are a warning sign!(Sorry about that!)

  when you look back, were you considered by others a "devout" jw?

  ( michael jackson and family as well as the williams sisters have been charecterized as being "devout").

  did you consider yourself sincere and devoted?

  I really thought I was. But looking back I wonder who I was trying to please! I pioneered many times..with kids in tow. Went to all meetings! Studied ahead!..Made sure the kids didn't do anything "wrong" at school. Gave talks. Was a good wife so Hubby would start going again!..He did..I quit!. (eventually)

  Well my girlfriend who was a nutty JW..couldn't get enough attention from her JW hubby..so she decided to get it from somewhere else. A Lot!,,. So she got caught...a few times...tried to commit suicide..a few times...and ended up getting disfellowshipped.

  She had been raised a JW by her Father and step-mother. Her Mother left her when she was 3. She didn't like being a JW. Her JW step-mother beat her.

  Her real mother called her after she (My girlfriend) got married and moved to another state..They hadn't been allowed to see each other for 17 years! They planned to meet but the mother died before they could.

  I left the religion after that. I knew the girl had psycological problems but when she called them for help..they sent over a 18 year old boy...He just told her to pray more!. I felt they had let her down. She ended up divorced.

  Now I wonder if I really left because of that or if I really didn't believe the religion to start with..

  ps..I heard she got reinstated after many years and went back to being a JW. Found her a JW hubby and now..is jealous of her hubby talking to any woman! So her daughter says! The pattern continues.

  years ago, everybody seemed to talk to their neighbors, and knew just about everything about them, where they work, knew alot about them.

  but now a days, we know much more people on the internet, than real live people in front of us.

  we are a generation of computer addicts.

  Did you ever notice that those that have the most in common seem to pair off?

  I wonder if that is really true? Could be..?..

  I think you can know a lot of people and have contact with a lot of people..and stll not have any "Friends". ...

  I have you..that's enough! ...

  Seriously...I love the computer!. It is interesting and you can find things easier than going to a book store and buying a book to get information!

  Being married to a JW really puts a strain on your life!..Worldly friends in your home are out of the picture..he would start talking about how God has a name..or some other JW subject! Anything to make them uncomforable and chase them off!

  When I was working it was no problem. Us girls would go out to lunch or just meet for coffee or shopping.SinceI have retired he wants me with him all the time. I guess that is why I love the computer!

  Now that he is sick.(Terminal Cancer).he doesn't even like his "Worldly kids coming over. It's like he wants to isolate us!...

  Another reason I love the computer!

  I love him dearly..but he is taking a toll on me right now. But believe me..if he doesn't survive this cancer...I don't think I will be on here at all...

  What's funny is that I am still friends with all his work buddies wives!..Yet he doesn't want anything to do with those worldly people!..

  Must be the JW coming out of him ...

  I was readng the paper and I noticed they printed a story on the Two couples that were killed in Florida. They were from St Louis. They were also Jehovah's Witnesses. They were in a Cab and it collided with two tractor trailers .They were all burned!

  They are having Memorial services Sunday here in St. Louis. The article said the remains were cremated!..They didn't have to add that!

  The part that caught my eye was the bottom of the paragraph.

  They were asking for donations to a trust fund for the minor surviving famly member. One couples children were 21 and 23. The other was 13.They were seeking donations for the 13 year old that is now staying with her aunt. I'm assuming she is also a JW..

  I couldn't believe a JW would request "Donations" from the "worldy people".

  Anyway..JW or not it was a very tragic accident!

  That's the second time in the last few months a JW from here was in a bad accident in Florida.

  When hubby was in the hospital..one of the laison committee was in a bad wreck with him and his wife in the car.They were banged up pretty bad. Some broken bones ..but OK.

  hubby had a visit from one of the overseers yesterday.

  he just told me today that there will be no sunday meeting this week.

  seems all the overseers are having a big meeting at their kingdom hall....it will take up both sides of the hall.

Seems all the Overseers are having a big meeting at their Kingdom Hall....It will take up both sides of the hall. Two congregations meet there at the same time at opposite ends.It is a large hall!..

  So I wonder what is going on? Ever hear of anything like that? Do they do that often?
